PSWs and RPNs placed
Fully restaffed
Full deployment
Ministry ratio compliance
SITUATION
A long-term care operator responsible for 1,800 residents across 12 facilities in Ontario had nine sites operating
below the Ministry of Long-Term Care’s mandated minimum care hour ratios. Burnout-driven attrition had
hollowed out PSW and RPN headcount faster than internal HR could replace it. A Ministry compliance review was
approaching. The operator needed a significant volume of verified healthcare workers, fast, while managing some
of the most demanding credential and background screening requirements in any industry.
SOLUTION
Trimax deployed a specialized healthcare talent team with established networks across Ontario’s PSW and RPN
graduate pipeline, including partnerships with college programs actively placing new graduates. All credential and
compliance documentation, including vaccination records, vulnerable sector checks, and professional
registrations, was collected, verified, and stored through our proprietary compliance platform, creating a
zero-paper, fully auditable record for every placed worker before their first shift. Automated reference checks
replaced a manual process that had previously taken 5 to 7 business days, cutting verification time to under 24
hours. Flexible scheduling options were introduced to attract candidates who had left the sector due to rigid shift
structures
OUTCOME
420 verified PSWs and RPNs were placed across all nine facilities within 10 weeks. Every facility was restored to
full Ministry compliance ahead of the regulatory review date. Staff satisfaction scores improved by 24%, a direct
result of reduced workload pressure on the existing team.
“Our residents deserve consistent care. This partnership helped us deliver on that
commitment when we needed it most.”
